Cy-Woods vs. Cy-Ridge

The Cy-Ridge Rams came to Cy-Woods with the Wildcats 0 and 2 in district play.  After 4 innings, Cy-Ridge was winning 5 to 3 when pitcher Casey Grayson came in and shut down the Rams.  The Wildcats added 1 run in the 6th inning and another run in the bottom of the 7th inning to tie the game. Grayson pitched 5 shut out innings.  In the bottom of the 9th inning, Jared Lakind led off with a walk and Tyson Heinrich followed him with a double which was enough to score Lakind from first to give the Wildcats a 6 to 5 victory.

The Wildcats next traveled to Jersey Village and defeated the Falcons 6 to 2.  Jeremy Fant threw a complete game to collect the win for the Wildcats to improve their district record to 2 and 2.

Cy-Woods vs. Langham Creek

The next district match up for the Wildcats was against the Langham Creek Lobos.  Casey Grayson hit a 3 run homerun in the first inning but the Lobos bounced back and were ahead 7 to 3 after 5 innings.  With 2 outs in the 6th inning, Connor Hyde hit a 2 run homerun and Michael Hilliard followed with a 3 run homer to give the Wildcats an 8 to 7 lead.  In the bottom of the 7th inning, the Lobos had the bases loaded and 2 outs when Max Jenkins had a game winning single to give the Lobos a 9 to 8 win over the Wildcats.

Cy-Woods vs. Strake Jesuit

The next opponent for the Wildcats was the Strake Jesuit Crusaders, 4th in District with the Wildcats right behind them.  On a windy night, the Wildcats took a 7 to 4 lead with the help of a homerun by Casey Grayson.  Michael Hays pitched 2 shut out innings and the Wildcats added 2 more runs in the 4th with a RBI double by Cory Barcus.  The Wildcats led 9 to 4 going into the 7th.  The Crusaders pushed across 3 more runs in the 7th and had the tying run on second when Jared Lakind caught the final out to secure the Wildcat victory.  This brought Cy-Woods’ district record to 3 and 2, moving them into 4th place in district.
